Season’s greetings

Greetings to all: An eventful year has passed, and a New Year full of hope and dreams—2018—has come. In 2017, 116 of superb articles were published, including 8 review articles, 98 original articles, 8 editorials, and 2 letters. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the researchers who have contributed high-quality papers, into which they invested countless hours of tiring and hard work; to the reviewers who screened those papers meticulously and with a genuine desire to help make them the best papers possible; and to the editors who made enormous efforts preparing the papers for publication. Research papers are like presents from researchers who work in silence. For researchers, sharing such presents with many other researchers is both a right and an important obligation. Papers that are selected and shared become the foundation of other subsequent studies, which in turn create a future virtuous cycle. I would like to extend my deepest appreciation for your contributions to Journal of Exercise Rehabilitation (JER) over the past year. Your support made it possible for JER to expand and grow. In 2017 in particular, JER was able to gain more prestige by becoming more internationalized. In this era of the fourth industrial revolution, the world—including us—is facing many crises, such as a low birth rate and an aging population. In order to solve these problems, new medical innovations are needed, as well as close collaboration among various sectors of society. JER is determined to play a part in solving the problems we face through global convergence and cooperation among various academic fields. 2018 is the Year of the Dog. As the animal that is the 11th in the 12-year cycle of Chinese zodiac signs, dogs are honest and cheerful. Once they determine what is right in their own minds, they step up courageously with a sense of responsibility. In accordance with what this animal symbolizes, I hope that all of you will live responsibly in the coming year. JER promises to demonstrate further developments to you in the New Year and we ask for your continued support. May the New Year bring you the health and happiness!
